How to Rotate Scents by Season in a Business

Should a business keep one signature or change with the seasons? How to do both: a year-round signature with a seasonal accent, and when to switch.

Some businesses keep one scent all year so it becomes part of their identity. Others change with the seasons to keep the space feeling fresh. The best approach often combines both.

The short answer

Keep one signature scent at the entrance all year, and rotate a seasonal scent in the lounge or secondary areas. Change seasonal scents about four times a year, at the start of each season.

Option 1: One signature, all year

Best for brands that want guests to recognise the space instantly: hotels, clinics, offices, retail chains. Choose a balanced scent that works in July and January.

Option 2: Seasonal rotation

Best for hospitality, salons and boutiques that like change.

Option 3: Signature plus seasonal accent

The entrance keeps your signature so first impressions never change. A second unit in the lounge, bar or waiting area carries the season.

How to change over

  1. Run the old bottle nearly empty.
  2. Wipe the reservoir before filling the new scent.
  3. Start one step lower than usual for the first days; new scents can feel stronger.

Plan your oil

Seasonal rotation suits 500 ml bottles, which roughly match a season in many spaces. Your year-round signature suits 1 litre.

Our concentrates are made for waterless (cold-air, nebulizing) diffusers that have a refillable oil bottle. They are not for water (ultrasonic) diffusers or sealed-cartridge machines.
