Our Clean Base is the DPG-free diffuser base we blend every Velour and Vellum reed diffuser and refill with, sold to you unscented in amber glass. Why it beats an ordinary DPG base: most budget bases are dipropylene glycol (DPG), a petroleum-derived solvent that evaporates very slowly, so the reeds lift less fragrance into the room. Our Clean Base is made mainly from glycerin and is about 70% renewable carbon. It has almost no smell of its own, so your fragrance oil smells like itself, and its evaporation rate carries scent up the reeds and into the room more evenly. The manufacturer puts its carbon footprint up to 40% lower than DPG, and it is inherently biodegradable. How to use: mix 3 parts base with 1 part fragrance oil (25% oil), always within that oil's IFRA limit, and let it rest 24 hours before you add the reeds. Works with our Cold-Air Concentrates and most fragrance oils. For making diffusers only — not for skin, not to swallow. Keep away from heat, flames and sparks, and out of reach of children and pets. Avoid contact with eyes.
