Two of our most-loved hotel-inspired scents, side by side: what each smells like, which rooms they suit, and how to choose between them.

Grand Foyer and Thé Blanc are the two scents people ask us about most. Both are fresh, both are clean, and both come from the same idea: the feeling of walking into a beautiful hotel. But they are not the same, and the right one depends on the room and on you.

Grand Foyer: the polished lobby

What it smells like: bergamot and a twist of lemon over white jasmine and water lily, resting on soft amber and white musk.

How it feels: bright, polished, a little floral. It's the "just arrived" moment: marble floors, flowers at the front desk, everything in its place.

Best for: entryways, living rooms, open-plan spaces and anywhere guests come in. It also works well in offices and reception areas, where you want the space to feel welcoming and put-together.

Choose it if: you like a scent that people notice and compliment, with a little floral lift.

Thé Blanc: the calm, clean room

What it smells like: white tea, aloe and ginger, with lily, cedarwood, sandalwood, vanilla and musk underneath.

How it feels: softer and quieter. Fresh sheets, an open window, a spa-like calm. It sits in the background rather than announcing itself.

Best for: bedrooms, bathrooms, and small spaces. It's also the easier choice for people who are sensitive to strong or floral scents.

Choose it if: you want your home to smell clean and calm without smelling "perfumed".

The quick way to decide

• For the front door and living room: Grand Foyer.
• For the bedroom and bathroom: Thé Blanc.
• For a small apartment where one scent does everything: Thé Blanc, because it's gentle enough for every room.
• For an office or reception desk: Grand Foyer.
• Can't decide? Use both: Grand Foyer at the entrance, Thé Blanc in the bedroom. They're close enough in character to sit together in one home.
