What Makes Velour and Vellum Fragrance Oils Different
Where our oils come from, what goes into them, what stays out, and why people who own scent machines keep coming back to them. The plain answers.
People who find us usually arrive with one question: is this oil any good? Here are the plain answers.
Who we are
Velour and Vellum is a home fragrance house in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We make reed diffusers and refills, blended by hand in small batches, and we select and bottle hotel-inspired fragrance concentrates for scent machines, plus the vessels, reeds and base to go with them. Everything we do serves one idea: the luxury olfactory experience your home or business has been missing.
What sets our concentrates apart
1. They are made to run in scent machines. Many diffuser oils are made for candles or humidifiers and sold for "all diffusers". We choose concentrates made specifically to atomise cleanly through nebulizing (cold-air), waterless and HVAC diffusers, which is where cheaper oils tend to clog.
2. They smell the same in the air as in the bottle. A good concentrate is a finished composition with a beginning, a heart and a base, so the room smells the same at night as it did in the morning. That is the hotel effect, and it is what our six hotel-inspired scents are built around.
3. They are IFRA-compliant and made without the ingredients people worry about. Every concentrate is IFRA-compliant, made without phthalates, parabens or formaldehyde, and free of California Proposition 65-listed carcinogens, mutagens and reproductive toxins.
4. One bottle does three jobs. The same concentrate runs in a scent machine, works in a reed diffuser with our Reed Diffuser Base, and can be used as a classic fragrance oil.
5. Sealed in amber glass. Concentrate is strong. Glass keeps it from reacting with plastic, and amber keeps light from flattening the scent over time.
6. You can try before you commit. The Complete Hotel Edit has all six hotel scents as 5 ml samples, so you can test each one in your own space first.
7. A real person answers. Questions about your machine, your space or a business order go to [email protected] and are answered by us, not a call centre.
